Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while adhering to our core values and commitment to patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient education based on identified healthcare needs.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and ensure patient teaching is conducted effectively.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise and provide training to ancillary nursing personnel while effectively managing time and resources.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Foster a positive work environment through team-building activities and proactive communication.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and engage in professional development opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift (for CIRH only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
