Registered Nurse - Psychiatry

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Psychiatry specialty. This role is vital to providing high-quality care to our patients in an inpatient setting, focusing on mental health and behavioral issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with psychiatric diagnoses including MDD, Bipolar, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, and Anxiety.
• Perform assessments, administer medications, and develop care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Monitor patient progress and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance treatment outcomes.
• Support and educate patients and families on mental health issues and coping strategies.
• Participate in de-escalation and intervention strategies as needed, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.

Schedule

This position requires a shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with a guaranteed weekly schedule of 36 hours. Weekend hours will be required every other week or as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience.
• Active RN license in Virginia.
• Current certifications in BLS, HWC, MANDT, and TOVA-certified de-escalation/physical hold training.
• Must be flexible and team-oriented, with a patient-centered approach.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
