Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide critical psychiatric care within an inpatient nursing unit. This position requires a dedicated and compassionate professional with experience in behavioral health. The RN will work closely with patients experiencing various mental health challenges and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to patients.
• Monitor and document patient progress and behaviors.
• Administer medication and coordinate treatment plans.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and physical hold training as required.
• Engage in therapeutic communication with patients and families.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing.
• Current RN license in Virginia.
• Required certifications: BLS, HWC, MANDT, TOVA (certified de-escalation/physical hold training).
