Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

This is a night shift position, working 3 shifts of 12 hours each from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a requirement of 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days every 6 weeks. Holidays may be required as needed. No call duty expected.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various critical conditions. This role demands proficiency in emergency interventions and the ability to work under pressure while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assess patient care in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
• Perform critical procedures including arterial line management, IV medication administration, and emergency response actions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatment plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of application.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; CPI, PALS, TNCC preferred.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is mandatory.
• Previous Charge RN experience and Level 2 Trauma experience are preferred.
