Night shift with a 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30). Must be flexible to float between like units and cover every other weekend.

Job Description

The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals with cardiac conditions. This includes managing pre and post-operative patients from open-heart and vascular surgeries, interpreting telemetry, and administering various treatments and medications. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to cardiac patients, including monitoring vital signs and telemetry.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV and blood product administration.
• Conduct assessments and develop nursing interventions based on patient needs.
• Perform patient education regarding heart health and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
• Respond to emergency situations and manage complex patient needs effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2-3 years of telemetry nursing experience required, with a focus on cardiac surgical care.
• Must possess a valid compact RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
• Epic experience is a hard stop requirement.
• Experience with VAD and TAVR procedures is preferred.
