Registered Nurse - Med-Surg/Telemetry

Schedule

Day shift (7 PM - 7:30 AM) with every other weekend required. This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will primarily work on the 1S Observation unit, with responsibilities that may include floating to other Med-Surg units (Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac, etc.) and possibly the Emergency Department (ED) if appropriately skilled and knowledgeable.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care in the Observation unit and various Med-Surg units as needed.
• Assess and monitor patients’ health conditions, ensuring adherence to care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Read and interpret telemetry data; provide appropriate interventions.
• Participate in patient education and advocacy.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years of current/recent experience in Telemetry and Med-Surg nursing.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Proficiency in Epic EMR is mandatory; refresher classes are not an option.
• Must successfully pass a competency test for reading telemetry on the first day.
