Med Surg RN - Ortho Trauma/General Surgery

Schedule

Night shifts: 3x12-hour (18:45 - 07:15).

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Med Surg RN with expertise in Ortho Trauma and General Surgery. The role requires flexibility as floating to similar units may be necessary. The RN will work in a fast-paced environment with patients who have severe injuries to bones, joints, soft tissue, as well as neurological traumas. It's essential to manage patient care effectively, ensuring adherence to safety and care standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with trauma and surgical needs.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implement care plans, and ensure effective medication administration.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and more.
• Adhere to patient safety protocols and maintain appropriate patient ratios of 1:5-6.
• Participate in unit orientation and organizational education sessions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Experience in Ortho, Neuro, or Trauma nursing is essential.
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
