Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Pediatric Step Down Registered Nurse for a rehabilitation unit. This position is focused on providing specialized nursing care to pediatric patients recovering from various conditions. The nurse will be responsible for managing patients with tracheostomies and ventilators, while also addressing complex rehabilitation needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the care of pediatric patients, including ventilator and tracheostomy management.
• Provide rehabilitation support for patients with conditions such as TBI, spinal cord injuries, GSW, MVA, and burns.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and manage feeding disorders.
• Assist with respiratory and cardiac care as needed.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and management of conditions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required.
• Current RN license in Maryland or Compact License.
• BLS certification required.
• CPI certification preferred.
• Experience with pediatric med-surg and pediatric step-down nursing is highly desirable.
