Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a 26-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend, holiday rotation required.

Job Description

This role requires a proficient Registered Nurse (RN) experienced in Med/Surg and telemetry to provide high-quality patient care on a telemetry-capable unit. The patient population will predominantly consist of medical-surgical patients. The traveler will need to pass an EKG exam during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6.
• Administer blood products and manage peripheral lines.
• Start and maintain IVs, including heparin and insulin drips.
• Perform rapid response team duties as needed.
• Assist with isolation precautions and use of PPE.
• Care for patients with colostomies, ileostomies, and feeding tubes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous charge experience is required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is mandatory.
• Must pass an EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed).
