Job Description

Our facility is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 14-bed overflow unit specializing in medical/surgical telemetry care. This role requires strong competencies in phlebotomy and IV placement, essential skills for all RNs in our unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary patient care in a fast-paced med/surg telemetry environment.
• Conduct vital sign monitoring and assessment of patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placements as required.
• Communicate patient status changes effectively using SBAR format.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
• Assist in patient admissions and discharges.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Current New York state nursing license in hand.
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system is required.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
