Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

7 PM to 7 AM - 12-hour nights. Weekend, holiday, and call required.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in the surgical setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to patient safety and care excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Assess and identify patient needs to deliver safe and effective care.
• Recognize safety issues and implement appropriate measures for patient handling.
• Demonstrate knowledge of clinical equipment and instrumentation in the OR setting.
• Assist in leadership responsibilities, including charge nurse duties as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Interpret lethal dysrhythmias and respond appropriately within the clinical setting.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current New York State RN license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience in clinical preceptorship and leadership is highly preferred.
