Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) working in a fast-paced surgical environment. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience in an acute care operating room setting with a strong foundation in general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN surgeries.

Schedule

Shifts are scheduled as 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with on-call requirements including 2 late calls until 11 PM per week, and every 3rd to 4th weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the operating room.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure effective communication and patient safety.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and manage anesthesia during surgery.
• Assist in the preparation and application of surgical instruments and equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an acute care operating room setting.
• SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Trauma Level 3 experience preferred.
• Radiation badge must be provided by the agency.
