Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours per week, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The role emphasizes patient and employee safety, applying the organization's core values throughout all activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on the assigned unit, focusing on direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning on all patients from the day of admission.
• Maintain communication regarding patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning, providing reassurance to staff, patients, and families.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested, ensuring effective use of time and resources.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific units only).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience, with one year of ICU experience preferred.
