Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, managing direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Maintain a safe environment in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and team dynamics.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to first shift.
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.

Schedule

This position is a night shift role, requiring 3x12 hour shifts.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
