Registered Nurse - Med/Surg/Telemetry

Night shift, 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15).

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg/Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience, with the ability to manage a diverse patient population and provide exceptional care. The unit accepts first-time travelers and offers opportunities to float to the main campus as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Support and manage patients with various conditions including diabetes, renal failure, and post-surgical recovery.
• Utilize telemetry systems for remote patient monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Provide pre and post-operative care, including hemodialysis and cardiac interventions.
• Implement isolation precautions and utilize appropriate PPE.
• Conduct wound care management and utilize wound vac systems as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and central line blood draws.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg/Telemetry setting.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and management of dysrhythmias.
• Charge experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Patient Diagnoses

Patients may include those with diabetes, dementia, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, hypertension, and various surgical recovery cases.
