Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Neuro

Schedule

Day shift: 3x12-hour (06:45 - 19:15). Must work every other weekend.

Job Description

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in our Med/Surg Neuro unit. Our focus is primarily on stroke patients as well as a variety of neuro diagnoses including epilepsy and traumatic brain injuries. The role requires strong clinical skills in Med/Surg nursing along with a commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients diagnosed with neurological conditions.
• Administer medications and monitor patient response to treatment.
• Effectively perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including initiation of appropriate interventions.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate patient status changes effectively.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards within the nursing practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years experience, including at least 1 year in Med/Surg nursing.
• Must have experience specifically in Med/Surg; telemetry experience is a plus.
• Current licenses and certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS. ACLS preferred but not required.
• EKG testing must be passed prior to the start of the assignment.
• Travelers must have completed at least 2 successful contracts.
