Registered Nurse - Surgical Trauma Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift - 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week. Must be willing to work assigned shifts with no block scheduling.

Job Description

Join our high-acuity Surgical Trauma Unit, where you will provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population, including surgical patients, gunshot victims, and individuals with spinal cord injuries such as quadriplegics and paraplegics. The unit is equipped with a supportive nursing team including Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for high-acuity patients in a surgical trauma setting.
• Collaborate with the nursing support team and other healthcare professionals during patient handoffs.
• Monitor patient progress and administer medication as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using EPIC.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Surgical Trauma or high-acuity unit.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Valid RN license.
