Travel Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Rotating shifts, including days and nights, required every other weekend with 3x12 hour shifts.

Job Description

The Travel Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing care in a 44-bed inpatient psychiatric facility, working with adolescent and geriatric populations. The nurse will implement the philosophy, goals, and standards of the Department of Nursing, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage clinical activities in assigned units, providing leadership and support to nursing staff.
• Oversee staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for patient care.
• Monitor budgets related to personnel and operations.
• Coordinate orientation and educational needs for nursing staff.
• Promote positive relationships with other disciplines to facilitate effective patient care.
• Represent the Nursing Department positively to external stakeholders.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Experience in inpatient adolescent psychiatric care is required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory.
• De-escalation training/certification is required; attendance at the SAFE Training Course onsite can be arranged if needed.
• Floating to both adolescent and geriatric behavioral health units is required.
