Registered Nurse - Cardiac Step-Down

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

The Registered Nurse will work a night shift from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, typically every third weekend, with one holiday requirement. Flexibility is needed based on census and staffing.

Job Description

The RN will provide care for patients in a cardiac step-down unit, focusing on heart cath recovery, administering cardiac drips, and caring for post-op open-heart patients. The position may require floating to other units in times of low volumes or coverage crises.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to cardiac step-down patients.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Provide post-operative care for open-heart surgery patients.
• Assist with heart cath recovery and manage cardiac drips.
• Care for ventilated patients if required based on patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in cardiac step-down nursing.
• Experience with heart cath recovery and cardiac drips.
• Competency in caring for post-op open-heart patients and other cardiac/med-surg patients.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR.
