Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, while also guiding new staff members.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients and families to set goals based on health conditions.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education upon admission.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing staff while fostering a positive team environment.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in line with hospital and nursing policies.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed and identify personal professional growth opportunities.
• Plan and prioritize nursing activities effectively to meet patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
