Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) and Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00). Weekend shifts are required, typically every other weekend.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced Emergency Department. The RN will primarily float between units and will be required to work in ED holding, providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population in a Level II Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients in the Emergency Department, managing a typical ratio of 1 RN to 4 patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams.
• Perform clinical procedures and assist in trauma, cardiac, and stroke care.
• Support high-acuity patients with complex medical needs.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the Emergency Department.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in Washington or compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency setting, preferably at a Level I or II Trauma Center.
• Previous charge nurse experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
