Job Description

The Radiation Therapist delivers professional radiation therapy services, executing daily radiation therapy treatments, scheduling patients, assisting with the simulation of patients, and maintaining accurate patient treatment records. The therapist collaborates with the oncology services team to assure that the delivery of patient care is consistent with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiation therapy treatment delivery services to patients, ensuring accurate administration of prescribed courses of treatment.
• Implement and deliver planned courses of external beam, SBRT/VMAT, and conventional treatments.
• Monitor and report unexpected effects, reactions, therapeutic responses, and treatment incompatibilities.
• Participate in a therapeutic team approach to optimize radiation therapy delivery.
• Assess and document patients' physiological and psychological responses to treatment on a daily basis.
• Construct and utilize immobilization and beam directional devices to facilitate treatment delivery.
• Provide patient and family education to enhance understanding of the treatment plan.
• Deliver age-appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Experience with Varian True Beam, Aria, and AlignRT.
• Performance of approximately 20 patient treatments per day.
• Must hold appropriate credentials and licensure for practice in the field.
