Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Progressive Care

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit specializes in the care of patients recovering from cardiovascular and vascular surgeries. The primary focus of this unit includes procedures such as open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery, and other critical cardiac interventions. In addition, the unit accommodates overflow medical cardiology patients with various diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients.
• Monitor and manage postoperative recovery, including vital signs and equipment.
• Administer medications and therapies as per physician orders.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate on patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about recovery and post-surgical care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have stepdown experience and telemetry experience.
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS.
• Preferable experience in CV surgery and vascular surgery within the last year.
