Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Telemetry unit will provide optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. This position is accountable for individualized patient outcomes throughout the entire episode of care, delivering comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and plan care for telemetry patients.
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions.
• Assist in diagnosing and treating human responses to health problems.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Manage medications and non-titratable cardiac medication drips.
• Monitor ECG rhythms for telemetry patients with the assistance of Critical Care Techs.
• Maintain high standards of patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience required.
• NV RN license required prior to start.
• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS (APEX).
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam to include identifying and measuring rhythm strips.
