Occupational Therapist

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. The role emphasizes patient and employee safety, promoting high-quality care and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment based on assessment.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment recommendations.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT/COTA students in their application of Occupational Therapy techniques.
• Complete documentation according to department policy and procedures, including daily progress notes and discharge planning documentation.
• Promote patient and employee safety in line with the organization's safety focus.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and foster a customer service attitude at all times.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid, current State license as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy is required.

Schedule

This position offers a flexible scheduling with a 4x8.0 hour shift. The start is ASAP, with a commitment of 32 hours per week.
