Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neuro ICU provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The RN is responsible for individualized patient outcomes and provides comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for neuro ICU patients, including those with ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, neurologic tumors, and seizures.
• Coordinate care between multiple healthcare professionals as needed.
• Provide care for neuro trauma and post neuro-surgery patients, including those with external ventricular drains.
• Demonstrate understanding of age-specific competencies and psychosocial needs of diverse populations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required.
• Experience caring for post-Alteplase and/or post-Thrombectomy patients preferred.
• Current NV RN license prior to start.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
