Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend, and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg Telemetry unit. The RN will provide care for a diverse patient population with medical and surgical diagnoses, including respiratory conditions, diabetes, psychiatric observation, and surgical cases. The position involves passing an EKG exam prior to onboarding to ensure competency in telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry environment.
• Monitor patients on telemetry for dysrhythmias and other changes in health status.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (Epic).
• Float to other departments as necessary based on patient census needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in Med/Surg or Telemetry.
• Active RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS is preferred.
• Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems.
• Previous charge nurse experience is a plus.
