Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry (Nights)

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including rotating weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care in a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit, treating a variety of patient populations including medical-surgical, respiratory conditions, diabetes, and hospice patients. The RN will be responsible for managing complex patient needs and performing EKG monitoring and interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Perform EKGs and interpret results for changes in patient status.
• Provide support for observation patients and manage medical-surgical diagnoses.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams including IV Teams, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.
• Document patient care activities using the EPIC charting system.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, including infection control protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• RN license in hand is required at the time of submission.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Experience with telemetry and EKG monitoring is necessary.
• Charge RN experience is preferred.
