Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Schedule

This is a night shift position requiring 3x12-hour shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit. The RN will primarily care for a patient population with various medical and surgical diagnoses, including observation patients, respiratory conditions, and diabetic management. Charge RN experience is preferred, and the candidate must be prepared to pass an EKG exam during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical/surgical telemetry environment.
• Monitor patient conditions and manage critical situations and medications.
• Administer treatments, medications, and blood products as prescribed.
• Utilize telemetry and EKG technology to assess and interpret patients' cardiac rhythms.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Assist in the management of various conditions, including diabetes and respiratory issues.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a medical/surgical or telemetry unit.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system is required.
• Successful completion of a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding.
