Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Trauma

Schedule

This is a night shift position, requiring 4x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15. 36 or 48 hours are acceptable options, but note that no overtime will be billed until after 48 hours.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med/Surg Trauma unit. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience within the last 5 years and be comfortable working with a range of trauma patients.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and manage heparin drips, PCA, and blood products.
• Provide comprehensive care for patients with colostomy and feeding tubes.
• Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and manage central and peripheral lines.
• Maintain and manage tracheostomy, chest tubes, and surgical drains.
• Monitor patients for dysrhythmias and manage oxygen protocols.
• Maintain adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
• Document all care in the Epic system.
• Float to similar units as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience within the last 5 years.
• Epic documentation experience is required.
• BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS is preferred.
