Outpatient Physical Therapist
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patients' needs, goals, and physician direction. This role includes the responsibility for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate an effective return to community activities.
The therapist acts as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves, while upholding the expectations of compliance set forth in the organizational Code of Conduct, including maintaining confidentiality regarding patient and company information. Upholding professional standards and codes of conduct is essential in this role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of assigned patients and create individualized treatment plans focused on progressing towards discharge.
- Complete medical record documentation accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in the student program as assigned, providing a positive learning environment with appropriate supervision and evaluation of students.
- Develop and pursue a personalized professional development plan, engaging in continuing education and professional activities.
- Adhere to the discipline-specific State Practice Act and maintain licensure in good standing, completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
- Engage in the organization’s performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of services provided.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- One or more years of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable state licensure for the practice of physical therapy.
- Previous experience with this agency is highly desired.
Schedule
This position involves a floating schedule with varying hours, including two evenings until 7 PM.
