Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift will be from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, working 4-day rotations.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse with a background in Medical/Surgical Telemetry. The role will require expertise in patient care for conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule-out. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex care needs and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor patient vital signs and fluid/electrolyte balance.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Perform assessments and interpret clinical data to inform treatment plans.
• Manage dysrhythmias and respond to rapid response code team calls.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring equipment to analyze patient heart rhythms.
• Provide patient education regarding treatment plans and health management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a telemetry or medical/surgical setting.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory.
• Must possess a valid New York nursing license at the time of application.
• Candidates are required to float as necessary.
