Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
The position requires a 4x10 schedule, Monday through Friday, with potential shifts starting at 6:30 AM, 7:00 AM, or 7:30 AM. A full call rotation is included, resulting in 6-8 days of call per month, which must consist of one Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday, with a response time of one hour for all calls.
Job Description
The Endoscopy Registered Nurse will utilize nursing theory, technical skills, and communication abilities to deliver compassionate care to patients and their families. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, providing direct care, evaluating patient progress, and ensuring a seamless care delivery process throughout the patient’s episode.
Responsibilities
- Apply nursing knowledge and skill in delivering patient care.
- Assess patient and family needs through effective communication and data analysis.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on changes in conditions.
- Advocate for and protect patients’ health, safety, and rights.
- Provide patient education and support to foster understanding of self-care post-hospitalization.
- Document care provided and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing practices.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with patients and families, ensuring they feel supported and understood.
- Safeguard public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active NYS RN Licensure.
- One (1) year of experience in an Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
