Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care in a mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients. The unit typically accommodates a patient ratio of 1:4-5, with the possibility of increasing to 1:6 in extreme situations.

Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators for chronic tracheostomy/vent patients
• Administer IVs and medications as per protocols
• Monitor patients using telemetry equipment
• Provide care for various respiratory diagnoses, including COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, and respiratory distress
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapists and nursing leadership

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered nurse
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Experience with IV starts, BiPAP/CPAP management, and telemetry
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
