Registered Nurse - Cardiac Progressive Care Unit - Night Shift

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30), with weekend rotation and holidays as needed.

Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a 30-private bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care department. The role requires managing a patient load with ratios primarily set at 1:5, focusing on cardiac patients with secondary respiratory issues. The unit operates 24/7 and is supported by a centralized cardiac monitoring department.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.
• Provide pre/post cardiac catheterization care, including peripheral line management and PICC line management.
• Administer and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Conduct procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
• Care for patients with congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmias, and respiratory issues.
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a cardiac progressive care unit.
• Prior charge RN experience preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required; NIHSS preferred.
• Must pass a mandatory EKG exam during compliance.
• EPIC experience is required.
• All applicants must hold a valid RN license.
