Schedule

Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM EST; Thursday: 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM EST; Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM EST; on call/callback and holidays per unit needs.

Job Description

The CT Technologist will be responsible for ensuring patient safety, preparing patients for scans, and coordinating with physicians to provide accurate diagnostic imaging. Responsibilities include confirming patient identity and exam verification, inserting IVs as necessary, positioning patients, and maintaining accurate patient records within the EPIC system.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans.
• Cooperate with physicians to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans and clearly explain procedures to ensure comfort.
• Insert IVs when necessary for CT imaging tests.
• Position patients safely, utilizing proper patient handling techniques.
• Document all necessary components within EPIC and assure images are sent to the PACS system upon completion of exams.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current registration as a Health Care Professional in New York State with injection therapy certification.
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure (must obtain prior to starting the position).
• Two years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Injection certification preferred and must be completed during orientation.
• Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment is preferred.
