Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Progressive Care

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Progressive Care unit specializes in the care of patients undergoing various cardiovascular surgeries including open heart, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety and excellent outcomes for all patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients in a progressive care environment.
• Monitor and manage patients post-operatively who have undergone cardiovascular procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform assessments and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Manage episodic conditions such as heart failure, chest pain, and sepsis.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and post-operative care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active and unrestricted RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience in stepdown and telemetry nursing is essential.
• Preferred: Prior experience with cardiovascular surgical patients.
