This position offers a 4x10 schedule, with the following shift timings:

• Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM EST
• Thursday: 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM EST
• Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM EST
• On-call/callback and holidays as per unit needs

Job Description

As a CT Technologist, you will play a crucial role in providing diagnostic imaging services. Your responsibilities will include verifying patient identity and exam details, preparing patients for scans, and ensuring their comfort throughout the procedure. You will position patients and, when necessary, perform IV insertions, all while adhering to safe patient handling protocols. You will document all procedures accurately in the EPIC system and ensure that images are correctly sent to the PACS system post-examination. Maintaining a clean and safe scanning environment is also a key aspect of your role.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and verify exam details before scans
• Coordinate with physicians to provide accurate diagnostic imaging
• Prepare patients and explain procedures to enhance comfort
• Insert IVs as necessary for examinations
• Position patients safely, utilizing best practices in patient handling
• Maintain accurate records in EPIC and ensure proper image handling in PACS
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards within the scanning facility

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current HCP registration in NYS with injection therapy certification
• Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• NYS licensure (to be acquired prior to starting the position)
• Two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment is preferred
