Staff Registered Nurse (RN) - OB Unit

Schedule

Varied shifts are available; candidates must be flexible. Preference for candidates who can work nights and must be able to commit to 80 hours every 2 weeks.

Job Description

The Staff RN will work on a 5-bed OB Unit providing comprehensive care in Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and Outpatient Testing. The role requires proficiency in various clinical skills pertinent to maternal and neonatal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, and High-Risk patients.
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rates and customize care based on findings.
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Insulin drips.
• Perform assessments and interventions for laboring patients and newborns.
• Use various monitoring and equipment, including Avalon fetal monitoring machines and Bilibeds.
• Assist with anesthesia administration and recovery of C-Section patients.
• Administer resuscitation to newborns as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery and couplet care.
• Current RN license with certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Monitoring.
• Proficiency in starting adult and neonatal IVs, administering Accu checks and photos for newborns.
• Ability to float to other departments as needed based on census.
