Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day Shift - 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation. Must be flexible with various shift lengths and days. No guarantee of hours or shift preference. No holiday RTO requests.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide medical/surgical level care for patients aged 18 and over. Responsibilities include potential floating to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units as necessary. The RN will utilize Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, chest tubes, and other relevant equipment in the unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical/surgical patients.
• Monitor and assess patient health and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in Meditech EMR.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years in medical/surgical nursing or higher-level care.
• Current BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Active State of Hawaii RN license must be obtained by the start of the assignment.
