Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient's needs, goals, and physician direction. This role is responsible for delegating and directing all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that allow for effective return to community activities. The therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves while performing other professional duties associated with patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner.
- Provide care under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approval.
- Participate in student programs and provide a positive learning environment.
- Create an individualized professional development plan with clinical management.
- Maintain ethical standards and comply with discipline-specific regulations.
- Contribute to organizational performance improvement initiatives.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable state license for practicing physical therapy.
- Experience with Select Medical is a plus.
