Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
Job Description
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist operates under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist. This role is essential in performing technical procedures and assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients within a fast-paced Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. The technologist creates diagnostic images using their specific modality while ensuring a safe and positive experience for patients.
In addition to trauma and emergency room scanning, the CT Technologist performs examinations on outpatients, inpatients (both stable and those under intensive care), research patients, and those needing specialized CT scan-guided procedures. Adherence to radiation safety measures as prescribed by New York State Department of Health is a fundamental expectation of this position.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Education: Graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School; high school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensure, Certification & Registration:
- New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or a limited permit to practice in the State of New York.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR, or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
- Experience: Entry-level positions available; skill set and experience will determine MIT Level.
Schedule
This position involves a schedule from Monday to Wednesday, 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM, with no on-call responsibilities; totaling three 12-hour shifts per week.
