Job Description

The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. The primary patient population includes cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients, specifically those recovering from various cardiac surgeries and related procedures. RNs will manage complex care needs and provide support for medical cardiology overflow patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients post-cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries.
• Oversee telemetry and vital signs, ensuring proper monitoring of patient conditions.
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions, including cardiac and epidural medications.
• Conduct assessments and document patient care using EMR (Cerner).
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to formulate care plans and treatment.
• Assist with cardiac gtt management and tube feedings.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Telemetry and stepdown experience is mandatory.
• Prior experience with cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients is preferred.
• CVICU experience will be considered an asset.
