Job Description

The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. The primary patient population includes those recovering from CV and vascular surgeries, such as open-heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and vascular procedures. Nurses in this unit work in a fast-paced environment providing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients.
• Manage epidural and chest tube care.
• Administer and monitor IV medications (e.g., cardiac gtts, insulin, heparin).
• Oversee patient feeding and hydration interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Telemetry and stepdown experience are mandatory.
• Preferred: Experience in cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery within the last year.
• Preferred: CVICU experience is a plus.
