Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a culture of safety and supportive care for both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish an individualized plan of care.
- Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, ensuring quality outcomes through the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments and interventions in compliance with policies.
- Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel, promoting effective team dynamics.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
Schedule
This position follows a Night 3x12.0 schedule.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification is required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification is required prior to the first shift (specific to certain facilities).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
- ICU experience is desired.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
