Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be part of a 11- to 12-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) that handles patients transitioning from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with complex medical needs and will be required to float to ICU or Medical-Surgical Telemetry as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with post-operative vascular needs, hemodynamically stable cardiac dysrhythmias, CVA, sepsis, renal issues, stable acute myocardial infarction, and post-cardiac catheterization care.
• Administer critical drips and manage telemetry, including titration of medications such as insulin, Cardizem, heparin, amiodarone, and low-dose dopamine.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Assist with general care and perform unit clerk duties as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications are required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Critical Care experience is essential.
• Must have travel experience and the capability to float as needed.
• Experience with Bipap, Cpap, mechanical ventilation, telemetry, critical drips, and post-cardiac cath care required; knowledge of CRRT and IABP preferred.
• Experience with arterial lines, post-fem-pop, and post-endarterectomy situations is preferred.
