Surgical Technician

Job Description

The Surgical Technician is an integral member of the multidisciplinary surgical team. This position involves acting as a scrub person, preparing and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. The technician has a comprehensive understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipates the surgeon's needs while working collaboratively with other team members to assure quality patient care during operative procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Act as a scrub person during surgeries, particularly for vascular and orthopedic procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure quality patient care.
• Participate in the on-call schedule for after-hours urgent/emergent surgical cases.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a certified Surgical Technician.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a surgical setting required.
• Broad experience in surgical procedures, with a key emphasis on vascular and orthopedic surgeries.

Schedule

Varying shifts, Monday through Friday, with 10-hour days, totaling 40 hours per week.
