Operating Room Surgical Technician

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour shifts with rotating day/evening/night schedules. There is an option to accommodate a 48-hour work week.

Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) provides care for patients across multiple surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma, as part of a level 1 trauma center. The OR is equipped with two Davinci robots utilized across various services. The surgical program includes complex transplant procedures for livers, kidneys, and hearts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures across a variety of specialties.
• Maintain the sterile environment of the operating room.
• Prepare and organize surgical instruments and supplies.
• Support the surgical team by providing necessary assistance during procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NBSTSA Certification or at least 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in operating rooms.
• Operating room experience in a level 1 trauma center is preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to scrub for various surgical procedures.
