Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - 12 Hour Shifts

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) providing essential nursing care to both non-acute and acutely ill residents. The role focuses on maintaining a safe and clean environment while delivering quality patient care under the direction of a Licensed Nurse (LN).

Responsibilities

• Obtain nursing data through resident interviews and observations under the direction of an LN.
• Document observations consistent with other providers and assist in providing general nursing care including activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and assisting with mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs and other health metrics, reporting any abnormal findings to the supervising LN.
• Assist residents with meal times and ensure the comfort and safety of residents.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment, including preparing nursing areas and assisting with cleaning duties.
• Dispose of waste and handle linens according to organizational procedures.
• Provide 1:1 care for resident safety as needed.
• Participate in unit-wide performance improvement projects and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year prior experience as a CNA preferred.
• Current full, unrestricted CNA license in the state of Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Schedule

12-hour shifts available.
