Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Description

This position works in conjunction with nursing staff, residents, families, and other facility departments to provide optimum individualized care for the residents of the skilled nursing facility (SNF). The CNA will be responsible for direct patient care and communication within the team, ensuring quality care for all residents.

Responsibilities

• Receives and gives report on residents' conditions and assures understanding of care to be given.
• Makes rounds on each resident, assesses all new residents, and those who are ill, have fallen, or sustained an injury.
• Document assessments per facility policy.
• Notifies nurses of any changes in residents' conditions or current needs.
• Assists with direct patient care and ensures call lights are answered promptly.
• Promotes good working relationships with other departments, co-workers, residents, families, and physicians.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule

Shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays with the potential requirement to float to other units as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• MUST have a California CNA license.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as a team player is essential.
